      Part 2

The new CPIM Part 1 replaces the Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM) as an introductory course for production and inventory management personnel and CPIM candidates. This newly designed course delivers the same knowledge and skills in a focused program and updated format that still provides basic definitions and concepts for planning and controlling the flow of materials into, through, and out of an organization. This updated course emphasizes the relationships among activities and functions that occur in the supply chain as goods, services, and information move from vendors/suppliers on the supply-side of the chain to the customers/consumers on the demand-side of the chain. In addition, the course addresses types of manufacturing systems, demand management and forecasting, master planning, material requirements planning, capacity management, production activity control, purchasing, inventory management, physical distribution, quality management, lean/just-in-time manufacturing, and the theory of constraints

The New CPIM Part 1 course is designed to meet the training needs of today's busy supply chain professional while covering these four main topics;

  • Business-wide Concepts
  • Demand Management
  • Transformation of Demand into Supply
  • Supply
The New CPIM Part 1 course uses the New CPIM Learning System, a proven APICS Certification preparation method that combines reading materials with online practice tests and tools.  The New CPIM Part 1 course, the CPIM Part 1 Learning System, and the CPIM Part 1 exam are included in the All Inclusive Pricing when you take a course from APICS-Chicago
