 Effective Management of Service Operations
    A Case Study
   Held in Joint with Governors State University

Service operations permeate the Supply Chain, including traditional outsourced operations such as: Plant Maintenance Services; Logistics providers including transportation providers, 3PLs, and 4PLs; and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). Additionally, in-house functions such as procurement, production and warehousing provide internal service operations to their respective organizations. Therefore, in order to insure effective service delivery, e.g., timely fulfillment, and to further cost reductions and other efficiencies Supply Chain Managers are looking to improve the management of their Service Operations. The Effective Management of Service Operations Case Study presentation will provide insights into the consequential actions that Supply Chain Managers can take to improve the performance of their Service Operations and the Service Operations that they engage to support their business activities.

Daniel Miller pursues his passion for operations management, process improvement, and project management in his current position as Project Management Consultant for Integrated Project Management Company, Inc. (IPM), where Mr. Miller's responsibilities have included: Managing post-acquisition integration activities; Guiding business strategy, value proposition development, and process improvements; and Leading innovation, and business strategy development initiatives. Before coming to IBM, Mr. Miller was the Manager of Materials and Fulfillment for NPIs at SpaceX. Before SpaceX, Mr. Miller held a series of steadily progressive Operations/Supply Chain related positions at GE Healthcare. Mr. Miller received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, and is currently working on his Master of Business Administration at the University of Chicago.
