Job Duties   The Inventory Planning Manager will lead inventory planning team in optimization of inventory stocking levels to meet customer service and asset management objectives. Review and provide input on segmentation of parts product, stocking decisions, safety stock definitions, and supplier purchase plans against these segments. Provide guidance to inventory planners/expeditors in performance of material analysis and planning, consumption analysis, purchase request generation, to ensure on time delivery to the customers, as well as, minimizing inventory carrying costs. Participate in interviewing and hiring process decisions for inventory planning team positions and determine training approach to optimize new team members’ performance. Develop TPM goals for inventory planning team members, lead by empowering the team to achieve those goals, to successfully build an engaged and high-performing team. Manage effective and efficient collaboration with Suppliers to ensure Parts inventory replenishment orders are shipped on time. Develop and communicate expediting processes via Oracle iSupplier Portal and provide guidance to Inventory Planners/Expeditors on open order tracking and expediting as well as maintenance of appropriate supplier lead times. Responsibilities: • Use Oracle Inventory Optimization and Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning systems paired with business objectives, PDC capacity, and supplier capability as the technology and process drivers to calibrate inventory to meet customer service and asset management objectives • Provide input into part segmentation strategy including application of inventory calibration parameters, review and approve parts classification update recommendations • Review & approve stocking determination parameters &processes, provide input into safety policy changes • Review and approve replenishment policies, provide input into replenishment change recommendations, review and approve alternative sourcing methods • Provide input and approval for supplier capacity or sourcing rule updates, review and approve alternative options for contract minimum and packager multiple buys (when prompted by system) • Review and approve Purchase Orders, collaborate on forecast with Suppliers, and monitor Supplier metrics • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues escalated by team members • Accountable for balancing supplier/work load levels amongst team members based on transaction and supplier performance • Assign Unit Codes to team members, basing decisions on current work load • Collaborate with Suppliers to ensure on-time order shipment and monitor Supplier metrics • Develop TPM goals for inventory planning team members and provide timely & constructive performance feedback and developmental guidance • Use Parts expediting tool, Oracle iSupplier Portal, and Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning as the technology drivers to focus and streamline expediting efforts. • Manage tracking of shipments and inventory • Review and approve Purchase Orders expedites • Support work-around and contingency plans, including deliveries from alternate suppliers / sources • Provide input to Inventory Planning Manager on exception handling • Communicate supply issues to Parts management and Purchasing • Manage parts lead times used in planning Visit us at www.Navistar.com to discover more about our organization and apply for this position by utilizing the job #: 2010-11972 in the key word search under the career section. Skills/Knowledge   Basic Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree OR at least 7 years of experience in Inventory/Supply Chain Management or Aftermarket Business Management experience • At least 5 years of experience in Inventory/Supply Chain Management or Aftermarket Business Management experience. Additional Requirements: • The candidate placed into this position will be ineligible to apply for any other positions within the company for two years following the date of placement, unless approved by his or her manager. Desired Skills: • Knowledge of Purchasing, Inventory Control, Order Fulfillment processes and inventory management methodologies • Ability to analyze and make improvement recommendations • Inventory level management and planning, matching forecast demand with on hand, on order, or in transit quantities • Knowledge of inventory planning theory and software (Oracle ASCP / IO preferred) • Business acumen and understanding of the service parts industry • Strong analytical skills; ability to compile data and effectively problem solve high-level, strategic initiatives • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization • Strong oral & written communications and excellent presentation skills • Strong interpersonal skills including negotiating and conflict resolution • Positive Attitude, Ethics and Values that align with the healthy & high-performance culture of Navistar • BA or BS in math, business, operations research, supply chain, information technology, or other related field • Ability to react quickly, make effective decisions and function well under pressure • Demonstrates self initiative and works independently • Navistar Parts group experience preferred • Experience with Oracle iSupplier Preferred
