The APICS CPIM program is designed to educate individuals in the various concepts, methodologies, terminology, and integration of topics within the supply chain and operations management functions.  

This instructor-led course is the second part of a comprehensive professional development and certification preparation training program consisting of two exams (Part 1 & 2).  It combines reading material and interactive web-based study tools to enhance the learning effectiveness.

CPIM Part 2 builds on Part 1, the Basics of Supply Chain Management foundation and provides extensive reading materials and several hundred on-line practice questions.  Under the guidance of your instructor you will access your current knowledge, learn or refresh concepts and best practices, reinforce knowledge with quizzes and tests, participate in learning activities, participate in practice exams, and measure your progress through a post test.

The four Modules in Part 2 focus on internal operations:

  • Master Planning of Resources
    • A plan of supply
    • Relating management of demand to manufacturing, distribution and service environments
    • Developing and validating the master schedule

    • Detailed descriptions of material requirements planning
    • Capacity requirements planning
    • Inventory management practices
    • Procurement and supplier planning
  • Execution and Control of Operations
    • Execution of operational plans and schedules
    • Control of the work completed and the analysis of results
    • Management of and communication in the workplace
    • The importance of utilizing appropriate design principles
